History of Bakers & Co

The Baker family name has been strongly established as leaders in the painting and decorating industry across Queensland for well over 100 years.

1890 – Enoch Baker entered the Brisbane painting industry

1910 – Enoch opened up his paint manufacturing shop. Sons Steve and Hec opened the first Baker Bros Painters in Brisbane

1950 – Hec and his two sons Col and Bob continued the legacy with Baker Bros Painters

1980 – Col’s son Steve continued the Baker painting branch with Baker & Staff Painters

2000s – Michael Baker completed his painting apprenticeship under his father Steve with renowned Baker & Staff Painters

2012 – Michael Baker began the sixth generation of Baker painters in Queensland, Bakers & Co Painting And Decorating

What our name means today

Entering as a new generation with Bakers & Co Painting And Decorating, Michael has taken this sixth generation family business in a new and exciting direction, while still guaranteeing the same quality assurance procedures that are akin to the Baker painter name.

Unlike most, we do not use subcontractors for any of our painting works. So you can rest assured that our painters are well versed in our quality and professionalism standards.

Through six generations, a reputation of quality services has been solidified throughout Brisbane and Queensland. And after 100 years of refinement, the quality assurance of our name and its history will continue to be guaranteed.

As a new branch of our history grows, this family owned company is looking forward to maintaining a healthy working relationship with all of our clients, providing a personalised service to meet every one of your needs and expectations.

Unlike most Brisbane painting companies, we do not use subcontractors for any of our painting works. This means that all of our painters are genuine and trusted employees of our company.

You guys did a great job on the exterior of our townhouse complex last year so it was great to see Mitch return to paint the inside of our place. Mitch, Tom and James did a great job.
