Covid-19 has had a heavy impact on all of us for over a year now. The difference however between now and then, is how our community has come together to protect the health and wellbeing of those around us.
The health and safety of our employees, clients and community has always been one of the highest priorities for Bakers & Co. And given the current circumstances we are all facing, we would like to assure you that any and all additional precautions are being taken to further ensure the wellbeing of our community. We are constantly monitoring Queensland Health Department and Queensland Government updates on restrictions and guidelines as they are announced. These guidelines have been implemented into our company policies and procedures to ensure we’re taking all necessary precautions.
Being part of the building and construction industry, we are grateful to have been able to continue working throughout these tumultuous times. Bakers & Co Painting And Decorating are still fully operational across Brisbane and SEQ, working hard on our industrial, commercial and residential painting projects. As most of you are aware, we do not use subcontracts for any of our works and all our painters are full time employees of Bakers & Co. Our management and admin staff have been working tirelessly to keep our business operating for our 40+ employees and their family members, whilst keeping their health and safety our main priority. We are also extremely grateful for all of our customers for their support throughout this time, helping to keep us afloat.
Our safe work practices
As a part of our new company Covid-19 Management Policy, we have implemented the following safe work practices across all of our worksites. These practices have been developed to comply with the current restrictions and advice from the Queensland Government and Queensland Health Department, to ensure the health and safety of our employees, clients and community. The implementation and enforcement of this policy is managed by our company Workplace Health, Safety & Environment officer John, who has also completed the government Infection Control Training – Covid-19.
- 1.5m social distancing is to be practiced wherever possible, especially around clients
- Face masks are to be worn at all times inside, unless eating or drinking
- Face masks will be worn outside if social distancing can not be maintained
- Worksites will be equipped with hand sanitisers, masks, wipes and cleaners, that are to be used throughout the day
- Hands are to be washed with soap or alcohol-based hand sanitiser frequently, especially after eating or drinking
- Regularly clean and disinfect tools and surfaces throughout the day

If you are feeling unwell for any reason, remain home from work and get tested immediately. Unwell workers are not to return to work until a negative Covid-19 result has been provided
We pride ourselves on the professionalism of our work, and ensure that we are doing everything we can to maintain this reputation. The implementation of these changes allows us to reduce the risks to the health and safety of our employees, clients and community.
Free remote quoting
With the new normal of social distancing, we are now offering the option of remote quoting. You are now able to obtain your obligation free painting quote through the phone with videos or photos. Depending on the works required, you can get in contact with our office and arrange a time for a video chat with one of our estimators, or email through some photos of the works. Our estimators can contact you via Facetime, Skype or WhatsApp from our office in Gaythorne, and you can give them a walk through of the property remotely. Once they have seen the scope of works and current condition, we will send you out a written quote via email that same day, and give you time to consider your options with a 60 day validity. What you can do
As a precaution for our painters, if you find yourself unwell or having to self-isolate whilst we are onsite, we do ask that you contact our office, so that we can pause or reschedule the works for after this period.
